Care Guide
If your duvet requires maintenance cleaning, we recommend using the services of a professional cleaner. However, if you prefer to clean your duvet at home, please follow these guidelines carefully:
- Use only a mild detergent designed for down products. Harsh detergents can strip natural oils from the down, causing it to become brittle. We recommend Daniadown Allied Down Wash.
- Rinse thoroughly, then double rinse to ensure all soap residue is removed, preventing clumping
- Due to the size of duvets, most home washers and dryers are not designed to handle these loads properly. Common issues include:
- Washers with center agitators can damage the fabric when tightly packed.
- Rinse cycles may be too short to completely remove detergent.
- Drying requires several hours on air fluff or extra low heat only.
- Periodically check for clumps, which indicate the down is still wet even if the fabric feels dry.
- Use dryer balls to improve airflow between the folded layers and reduce drying time.
- If clumping persists after adequate drying time, residual soap may remain. In this case, rinse and dry the duvet again.
